Overview of the Unit

The Intensive Care Unit at Valley Hospital Medical Center includes a 25-bed medical ICU and 20-bed surgical ICU. The medical ICU is designed to allow the staff to provide care for critical medical (multi-system organ failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, status post cardiopulmonary arrest, etc) and cardiac patients (myocardial infarction, post-chill patients).

The surgical ICU allows the staff to provide care for critical post-surgical patients including neurosurgical, cardiovascular, coronary artery bypass graft and general surgery patients. Advanced cardiac life support certification and basic life support certification are required. Previous ICU experience is preferred but other strong applicants will be considered.

  • Registered nurse (RN)
  • Weekend special RNs
  • Unit secretary / CNA

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to maintain the following qualifications:

  • BLS and ACLS
  • Will consider new graduate nurses
  • BSN Preferred
