Welcome to the Internal Medicine Residency Program

A message from Mark McKenzie, MD, FACP, Program Director

Hello and welcome to the Valley Hospital Medical Center (VHMC) Internal Medicine Residency Program.

At VHMC you will get exposure to a diverse patient population that features exceptional clinical pathology. Adjacent to VHMC is the Internal Medicine clinic, where you will manage your own patient panel with diverse medical problems and patients of varying backgrounds.

VHMC has a strong commitment to training internists in out-patient and in-patient medicine. Fellowships are offered in various specialties. We adhere to the program requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

The Internal Medicine Program at VHMC will not only prepare you to provide exemplary medical care upon completion of your training, it will do so in an environment of respect, collaboration, and commitment to excellence. As Program Director, I am fully dedicated to teaching, mentoring and providing you with the skills and education you’ll need to succeed.  In addition, our faculty is devoted to ensuring you receive a well-rounded and high-quality learning experience.

Once your training is complete, you will embark on your career having developed a strong foundation built on knowledge, character and teamwork.  We look forward to helping you achieve your goals!
