Becky Jayakumar, PharmD

Becky Jayakumar, PharmD, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, earned her B.S. in pharmaceutical sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from North Dakota State University. She completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada and a two-year infectious disease pharmacotherapy fellowship at Hartford Hospital.  Currently, she is an assistant professor at Roseman University and maintains an infectious disease clinical site at Valley Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Jayakumar’s research interests include antimicrobial resistance and optimization of antimicrobials via pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. She has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications in several journals including Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents among others. Furthermore, she is an active member of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists and the American Society for Microbiology.

Velliyur Viswesh, PharmD, BCPS

Velliyur Viswesh, PharmD, BCPS, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Upon graduation he completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency and a PGY-2 Infectious Disease Pharmacy residency at the University of Arizona Medical Center-University Campus. He currently practices as a clinical pharmacist in the Medical and Surgical ICUs at Valley Hospital Medical Center where he rounds with an interdisciplinary team of ICU physicians, medical residents, and medical students and also serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students and PGY-1 pharmacy residents on a critical care rotation.

Evan Williams, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, BCACP

Evan Williams, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, BCACP, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona and completed residency training at the Phoenix VA Healthcare System. He is board certified in both pharmacotherapy and ambulatory care, and obtained an MBA from Husson University, where he was previously a pharmacy practice faculty member. While at Husson, Dr. Williams implemented transitions of care clinical pharmacy services between Eastern Maine Medical Center and the Eastern Maine Health Care primary care clinics, becoming one of the first clinical pharmacists to offer such services in central Maine. He has taught didactic content in numerous clinical areas including hypertension, infectious disease, clinical nutrition, drug information and literature evaluation, fluids/electrolytes, acid/base disorders, ocular disorders, and ACLS/code response. In his free time, he enjoys grilling, learning to play new instruments, home brewing, and spending time with his wife, two daughters, and his corgi.

Alana Whittaker, PharmD, BCPS

Alana Whittaker, Pharm.D., BCPS , BCGP, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Howard University in Washington, DC and completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY-1)  at Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, Virginia and her Internal Medicine Specialty Residency (PGY-2) at Seton Family of Hospitals/University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas. She has a practice site at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada where she rounds with an internal medicine team from the Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and serves as a preceptor for adult acute care.
