GME: Orthopedics
Interviews for July 2013 class will be held Friday, December 7, 2012.
The Orthopedic Surgery program at Valley Hospital is a five-year continuum of organized and progressive training. The program provides both scope and volume of didactic and clinical experiences, enabling residents to become proficient in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic patients. Osteopathic principles and practices, as they relate to orthopedics, will be integrated at all points in the training continuum. Patient safety and care are of the utmost importance as residents train to become competent practitioners who will be successful in board certification, and remain lifelong learners.
Two residents will be admitted annually for a total of 10 residents at the program's maturity. Valley Hospital is the home institution, with 305 operational beds, a new surgery department with 11 operating rooms, a new PACU with 20 beds and a new Outpatient Surgery area with 18 bays.
It is strongly recommended that interested candidates have a rotation in Orthopedics at Valley Hospital. Please see the Student Rotation Request Form.
